Abstract: The OpenWSN project has a complete set of protocols for network communication, but it has been chosen to provide an alternative to the routing layer within the protocol stack currently implemented. This layer is implemented with RPL and is intended to implement RIP, an IGP (Internal Gateway Protocol) routing protocol present in the origins of the network interconnection and that has been evolving and adapted to the new IPv6 stack. A research work of this protocol has been carried out through the different technical documents (RFC) that detail the technical aspects to take into account for the mplementation of the same.
