Abstract: Augmented reality was first used as a training tool by the British armed forces, in order to increase the reaction time of its pilots during night operations. In recent years, its development has been focused on features interesting for the general public offering new ways to interact with our surroundings; making augmented reality a potentially useful tool for everyday life. In the current year (2017) augmented reality has a 13900 million dollar market globally, 130% more than the last year; and the evolution points to an even greater increase (143000-150000 million dollars and 1 billion users by 2020). Augmented reality is a constantly evolving technology, which stablishes a new way to interact and understand our physical surroundings, and offers clever and automated solutions to simple tasks.
