Abstract: This dissertation begins exposing a summary of the causes of the current journalism crisis, which are diverse, concurrent and interrelated. We reject the idea presenting technology as the main cause of the crisis. We also reject that it was only a crisis of the business¿ model. Instead, We defend that it is not a new crisis, neither recent: This is a global crisis, understanding global as something that affects to all the territories that enjoy a free and plural media system. But we also defend that in the case of the Spanish and Catalan journalism there are specific historical causes. The second part analyse media cases, new and old, which have adapted to the new context, which are testing new strategies, and which are succeeding in some ways. From this analysis we obtain some conclusions. The main ones: there are reasons to be optimistic, there is not just one pattern of success, and it is absolutely necessay to (re)connect with the audience. The third part focuses on business¿ models. The current crisis is not only a model crisi, but the old model no longer works.
