Art and education: The need for an uneasy meeting of fields that question each other

Abstract

This edition of Artnodes is devoted to the relationships between art and education, with the definition of the space connecting both terms intentionally left open, given that it is currently constituted in very different ways. Definitively questioning the idea that education is a vehicle to convey cultural content -or in other words, a domain that reproduces another field that is productive-, art and education hybridise to provide all types of overlaps in which neither is instrumental for the other, rather that they generate unexpected and inseparable forms of creation and learning.

El presente número de Artnodes está dedicado a las relaciones entre arte y educación, dejando deliberadamente abierta la definición del espacio que conecta ambos términos, puesto que en el momento actual este se configura de muy diversas maneras. Cuestionando definitivamente la idea de que la educación es un vehículo para transmitir contenidos culturales -o, dicho de otro modo, un ámbito reproductivo de otra esfera que sí sería productiva-, arte y educación se hibridan propiciando todo tipo de encuentros en que ninguno es instrumental para el otro, sino que generan formas imprevisibles e inseparables de creación y de aprendizaje.

Aquest número d'Artnodes està dedicat a les relacions entre art i educació, deixant deliberadament oberta la definició de l'espai que connecta ambdós termes, atès que en el moment actual aquest es configura de maneres molt diferents. Qüestionant definitivament la idea que l'educació és un vehicle per transmetre continguts culturals o, dit d'una altra manera, un àmbit reproductiu d'una altra esfera que si fos productiva, art i educació s'hibridarien propiciant tot tipus de trobades en què cap és instrumental per a l'altre, sinó que generen formes imprevisibles i inseparables de creació i d'aprenentatge.
