Author: Santamera Arnao, Rosalía
Tutor: Picorelli Riutord, Pere
Abstract: This thesis will offer an objective evaluation of the Regeneration Strategy in Madrid (Estrategia Madrid Regenera) as it is applied to the Latina district in Madrid (city). With this preview evaluation, the rationale behind the Regeneration Strategy in Madrid will be analysed as an internal evaluation as well as how it relates to other ongoing improvement projects in the city, specifically, in the Latina District (Madrid). This is a summative assessment in that it will offer information which justifies the Regeneration Strategy in the Latina district, and formative, as it attempts to offer information that would better it. As an ex-ante assessment, it intends to analyse the adequacy of the Regeneration Strategy framed within the necessities that motivate it and its chances of success. This evaluation stems from the collection of useful information regarding the formative process of the Regeneration Strategy in Madrid, and its relationship to other improvement projects with the aim of participation in the changes necessary to make the district more sustainable. The aim of the information provided is to be of assistance to those involved in the Regeneration Strategy from a social welfare perspective, an environmental protectionist perspective, as a cultural aid, encouraging democratic values and the common good, while constantly taking into account the fact that this evaluation is for the citizens of the district themselves.
