Title: Estudio de caso: Dreamhamar. Reimaginando colectivamente el espacio público de Stortorget, Hamar
Author: González Gil, Paco
Abstract: Dreamhamar is a network design process led by Ecosistema Urbano to collectively reimagine the public space of Stortorget in the city of Hamar, Norway. Hamar kommune decided to address the transformation and renovation of the Stortorget square by opening the participation to its citizens in a collective process of brainstorming to define its public space. Ecosistema Urbano distinguishes two areas in Dreamhamar: the construction of a living community-network, and a design proposal that adopts the activity and expectations of said community-network. In this way, if the urbanization, urban design, and the construction of this network community correspond to the network design, the design of networks or community-networks, the Urban ecosystem exposes that the process that builds This community-network should be open to incorporate any participant so that they can think about the future of the square and its uses. In this way, network design is designed to create social connections and awareness (or culture) in the local community, so that effective participation in the ideation of the future public space is generated. The process will promote a public citizen debate in which those responsible for carrying out urban design, or urban design, participate actively and in person, in order to listen carefully to citizens and be able to transfer and incorporate the result of public debate into a design urban.
