Abstract: The paper is based on a case study to demonstrate that inclusion is a must-have for education. Students need to have opportunities to participate at school despite their specific needs. Children's circumstances should be evaluated to adjust learning units. Not only may students be included in mainstream schools, but need to receive structured supports to ensure their participation and knowledge building. Cooperative learning is an inclusive tool to organize classrooms. It promotes peer-to-peer learning as well as it promotes students' self-esteem. The principal aim of this paper is to measure which learning strategies facilitate autistic students inclusion. Furthermore, a protocol is designed to help teachers. To this purpose, eight students from Primary have been included in the study: four from Fourth Grade in the clinical trial and four others from Sixth Grade in the non-clinical trial. One student per team has ASD. Ten cooperative learning sessions have been observed for a period of four weeks during the first term of the school year. For the data pick-up, a consistent pattern based on three dimensions (social, personal and academic) has been followed. Outcomes have revealed that when supports are anticipated in the clinical trial, team success is higher than in the non-clinical trial where supports are not organized beforehand. As a result of the study, we can state that when supports are planned, not only may students with ASD improve, but all the team enhances the chances of success.
