Abstract: The project explores the available possibilities to integrate a MIDI controller in an electric guitar, so as to provide the player with the same expressive possibilities, in terms of real time control of parameters, as other contemporary instruments like synthesizers and control surfaces. Built upon the official and standard MIDI spec, as well the native capabilities of the arduino platform, the methodological approach is eminently practical, leading up to an actual fully functional, completely integrated implementation in an off-the-shelf guitar with minimum modifications.
