Abstract: This workshop aims to explain what is open access and what are the advantages for the academic and scientific community. Related to this, explains the advantages of open educational resources (OER) for both teachers and the students within the University and the UOC institutional policy of open access. There will also be an introduction to the role of copyright in relation to the publication in open (open access) and the benefits of self-archiving in order to academic and scientific institutional repositories. Finally, explain what is a repository, kinds of repositories, and especially the institutional repository of the UOC (who, whan and how can you publish in O2).
