Abstract: The objective is to review the evidence reported in the literature regarding the effect of diet on interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). To assess the relationship between diet and worsening of symptoms and to identify the specific food and mechanism involved. A review of the literature of the last 10 years was conducted to identify publications that correlate diet and food with interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome. MEDLINE was used to identify the papers. Selected studies were evaluated with critical reading surveys of the critical reading skills program CASPe and with critical reading program Osteba from the Basque government's health department.
