Title: Los trabajos de fans como crítica

Abstract: It is common to think that fanworks are born from the love fans have from the source text. That is not true: many times, fans are the most ferocious critics since they know the text thoroughly and belong to a community that revolves around it, they are able to find tropes (literary, cinematographic...) that sometimes involve sexism, racism or the like, that the fans themselves criticise. Other times, the source text allows them to critic society, and other times fans feel betrayed by the author/producer and they criticise their attitude. This criticism can be made in different ways: whether by means of written texts in which they analyse the source text, or by stories, films, comics, videos in which they state their opinions. This paper will focus on fanworks (stories, films, videos...) since they are far from traditional criticism and, though some of them can be formally close to parody or satire, the scope is different both because of the relationship of fans with the text and because their content.
