Abstract: The objective is the design, plan, apply and evaluate a Nutritional Education (EN) program addressed to students and their parents at the Canet lo Roig School of Early Childhood Education to educate and empower them in different aspects of food and nutrition in order to improve their eating habits and those of their children. A quasi-experimental study before and after of application a NE program at students (aged 3-12 years) and their parents (16 mothers and 24 students). Weigh, height and BMI were measured. Adherence to Mediterranean Diet and students' diet nutritional quality were determined using Kreceplus test. Parents have been asked to answer a food frequency questionnaire, a life styles questionnaire ad hoc and a previous knowledge questionnaire ad hoc. Results: The EN program decreased de BMI of students who had over weight. Consumption of whole grains, legumes, white and blue fish and nuts increased. The nutritional quality of students' diet improved after the program was completed (nutritional quality optimal: 17%; nutritional quality half: 71%; nutritional quality low: 12% versus to 14%, 63% and 25% at the beginning of the program). The mothers acquired new knowledge and were more able to take the content of the nutritional labels. Conclusions: This EN program impacts positively on BMI and acquisition of food and life styles.
