Title: Estudio del perfil neuropsicológico de pacientes con Enfermedad de Steinert

Abstract: This study appears with the aim of developing a full rehabilitation program in San Jorge Hospital in Huesca addressed to patients affected by Steinert's Disease also known as myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM-1). The objective, to describe which are the neuropsychological impairments in DM-1 patients and to determine the factors of major impact in their quality of life. Patients and methods, a sample of 11 patients diagnosed with genetically confirmed DM-1 currently monitored in San Jorge Hospital in Huesca was selected. Some patients affected by congenital DM-1 or other conditions which could cause cognitive deficit were excluded. Aspects evaluated were: degree of muscular affectation according to Muscular Impairment Rate Scale (MIRS), presence of cognitive and emotional impairments using a neuropsychological test battery specifically designed for the study and the quality of life through the INQoL test.
