Abstract: Nowadays internet has become an essential media for communication and information. Immersed in the information society (Castells 1996) - and communication - through the use of the Internet we have found new ways to communicate. It is therefore not surprising to suggest that even emotional communication happens online. There is growing interest in how the Internet operates and is used in our daily lives and at the same time, also the knowledge on the subject increases. However there are few studies analyzing the online interpersonal communication taking into account the role of emotions. The number of investigations is even more reduced if we focus on studies in Spain and empirical data on Spain. This paper is part of the research project entitled Everyday life on the Internet: interpersonal communications and emotions in web 2.0, carried out by the program "Jose Castillejo" of the Spanish Ministry of Education.
