Abstract: In this work the elaboration of a method to apply adequate security parameters during the phase of installation of new network designs is carried out, with the aim of avoiding or mitigating vulnerabilities in communication systems, before the production step. For this purpose, a study is made of the regulations of the National security scheme, specifically of its reference guides CCN-STIC, from which, the security measures that should be applied on a theoretical model of network architecture will be extracted, focused on perimeter security. Subsequently, both the theoretical network design and the defined security measures, will be applied to the configuration of a virtual platform that allows to validate the proposed method, through a tests plan and to verify the vulnerabilities and limitations of the design, through the application of adequate security tools to execute network scans. By the one hand, the results obtained with the application of the test plan, on a virtual platform, allow to verify the functionality of the proposed design and by the other hand, the scanning of the emulated network allows detecting the weaknesses of the systems for their subsequent correction, getting that the network desing is safe or is ready to be accreditation.
