Abstract: The purpose of the work is to create a Business Intelligence platform (BI) implemented with Open Source technologies that enables the analysis of the information generated during an experiment whose objective is to check the effectiveness of the different treatments in the reduction of the levels of cholesterol In order to carry out this analysis in the Business Intelligence environment, it will be necessary to design and implement a Data Warehouse that allows you to store the information acquired. Likewise, the extraction and processing and loading (ETL) processes must be programmed to load the data warehouse with the source file. Finally, the necessary tools are analyzed and implemented between the different Open Source BI platforms in order to have the software layer that allows the multidimensional analysis of the information. The methodology used was the decomposition of work in differentiated phases that correspond to functional units. These stages have been carried out sequentially, however, each phase involves the iterative revision of one or several stages of the previous levels. The project responds effectively to the different analytical questions that are set as the initial objective. On the other hand, concludes with a Business Intelligence environment that performs complex queries and returns precise data in a low response time, which can be used by expert analysts in the domain and not need advanced computer skills.
