Abstract: The emergence of psychoneuroimmunology has brought a medical challenge in unifying various sciences in its study; such as genetics, biology, biochemistry, neurosciences, psychology, immunology, and endocrinology, among other medical specialties in to contemplate the dualism between mind-body. The relation established in an interrelation and complex way with several subsystems of the body, such as the immune system, the nervous system and the endocrine as a single exploratory and integrating unit. The field of Psychoneuroimmunology is currently undergoing a stage of research, deepening on its studies in multiple interactions that occur between all these systems. Due to the attention this field has received in recent years on medicine and specially from the field of neurosciences, there have been several investigations into these connections. This review work tries to glimpse what are some of the most important findings made in this field with regard to the impact on these connections in health, and at the same time analyse how this discipline is nowadays.
