Abstract: This study aims to explore the different possibilities at the level of communications to have an In-Home Display that shows the information collected from smart meters. This will be based on a network of smart meters that communicate with each other by PLC technology and will analyze all possible options. This solution aims to provide visibility of electricity consumption to the customer by providing information on consumption almost in real time. In this way, energy costs can be better controlled. By including this equipment in the network, it is also possible to make customers aware of the use of energy so that they can modify their consumption habits. On the other hand, the impetus behind smart grid technologies is to enable the grid to use electricity more efficiently, and potentially eliminate the need to build new power plants to meet growing demand. If a more controlled use of existing resources is achieved, there will be no need to install these new facilities.
