Abstract: | Warehouse management systems are computer tools that companies use to control the internal movements of merchandise in their facilities. An EMS provides concepts such as reliability and quality in the processes, therefore the incorporation of this type of tools are always to be considered by the management. The key element is correctly dimensioning the investment project of the implementation of an EMS, so that there are no errors and the valuation can be carried out correctly. The TFG intends firstly to correctly dimension the investment project, and then make an economic assessment of it. In the first place, a search for objective information was carried out to develop the main benefits generated by the implementation of an EMS. Second, it has been proven with a practical case that the generic benefits are applicable to a large extent. It has been stressed that care must be taken with personnel restructuring, since they can generate a bad image for the company. |
