Abstract: The main aim of this project is to carry out an analysis of the present contingencies in the current vehicle communication system V2X, which allows the transmission of information between a vehicle and any entity of its environment, and, moreover, is based on the wireless technologies IEEE 802.11p and 3GPP LTE. By doing the analysis, it is hoped to support the automotive sector at the moment of promoting a secure inclusion of V2X communication. In order to fulfill the target, a rigorous analysis of failure modes and effects that includes a criticality assessment is applied. This method allows accomplishing, in a systematic way, a study of all possible modes, which enable the author to determine their effects on the V2X vehicular communication system. The analysis is carried out using Microsoft Excel tool. Based on the results of the analysis, a set of measures has been proposed to minimize or eliminate completely the negative impact of those contingencies determined in the study. Finally, it has been introduced the following steps that vehicular communication V2X is taking and in which the 5G standard can have an important role.
