Abstract: The presented project shows a first approach to automatize the search of ortholog proteins and has analysed first obtained list of candidates generating interesting observations regarding copper-resistance systems representation in different bacterial strains. Both resistant strains of Alteromonas macleodii analyzed show higher number of copper-resistance related genes in their genome. The search for a conserved DNA sequence motif has given new insights into the transcriptional regulation mechanisms in Alteromonas macleodii species, which have been shown to be different from its Alteromonas counterparts.
