Abstract: In the operating room, the moment of induction and intubation is a high-tension moment. The majority of intubation happens without incident, but the appearance of an unexpected difficult airway supposes a high risk for the life of the patient. Before proceeding to intubation, you must evaluate the anatomical characteristics and look for the best predictors to anticipate an accident with the airway management. These factors are summarized in a wide-spread table called Arné, which based on logistic regression, points values were assigned to these factors in proportion to regression coefficients, establishing a score for difficult intubation in the adult patient. Although these criteria apply to children they do not present a scientific validity or clinical applicability. The aim of this Master's Project is to design the study and analysis of the data that fill this gap. An observational study was conducted with paediatric patients, surgical populations in the year 2018 at the HUVH. The predictive factors of the Scale of Arné are analyzed, relating them to the presence of intubation difficult in a bivariate way, studying the predictive value, and with logistic regression techniques. The results obtained are explained to a large extent by the particular characteristics of the child, and show a difference, already supposed, with the adult. The examination of the data is oriented to an obstacle in the exploration of the child, obviously, the growth modifies the values used in the evaluation, for that reason the most significant predictive tests are the previous history and the associated pathology, that do not depend on the observation.
