Abstract: Over the past few years, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) have generated great interest as agents of change in higher education. The immense popularity of these courses has even led many experts in the field to declare them as a disruptive technology that, again, puts the use of technologies in higher education at the center of the debate on teaching and learning. In this way, the most prestigious universities in the world began to join this new project until reaching the Iberoamerican context, at the beginning of 2013, through Miriada X, the first platform in Spanish. In this context, the study presented below analyses all the MOOCs offered during 2015 by this Spanish platform. The results of this documentary analysis show that 88 courses were launched in that context, mainly about Information Science and Economy and Business. The conclusions indicate, among other key elements, the lack of information students have before enrolling in a MOOC regarding how they will learn and how they will be assessed.
