Abstract: In the pancreas two main types of cells are distinguished: exocrine and endocrine. Endocrine cells represent a smaller number in the pancreas, and are grouped in the so-called pancreatic islets of Langerhans, where they produce hormones of great relevance to the body, such as insulin or glucagon. In the islets four subtypes of cells are formed, each of which will develop its own endocrine neoplasia. This tumor appears spontaneously in patients who do not have a family history of pancreatic tumors, although it is true, which can be related to multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 [MEN1]. Its diagnosis is based on a hyperglucagonemia that causes mild diabetes melliuts, accompanied by hypoaminoacidemia, normochromic normocytic anemia, necrolytic migratory erythema, mucocutaneous rash abnormalities, such as stomatitis, glossitis and cheilitis, low zinc levels, deep vein thrombosis, depression and weight loss These symptoms are known as glucagonoma syndrome. Since the clinic that accompanies this type of tumor has aspects that can be tried to alleviate a diet, such as mild diabetes, anemia, hypoaminoacidemia, zinc deficiency, mucosal alterations or severe weight loss, It would be interesting to look for a dietary treatment that would improve the quality of life of these patients, whether they have tumors with the possibility of recession or not. The most current reviews show the positive association for intermittent fasting and the good response of cancer treatments, minimizing their cytotoxic effect. The dietary treatment can be of great help in the cancer patient and it would be very beneficial to include it in the set of treatments that you will receive, with the aim of improving your quality of life and the response to both radio and chemo therapies.
