Author: Pino Lacosta, Jordi
Tutor: Rifà-Pous, Helena
Abstract: This project analyses the standard 802.16 for the wireless fit at the broadband and, more precisely, at what consists the WIMAX certification. Later, it studies witnesses it of WiMAX at the market and his the ongoing state of development. Finally, they compare several techs for the fit at the broad band with WiMAX and present some possible practical apps of the tech. For the development of the project have studied predominately the specifications 802.16 published by the IEEE, the technical articles and of information published at the websites of companies participants at the consortium WiMAX, articles of information at the forums of Internet devoted at the wireless techs and general radiocommunications bibliography. The products based at the tech 802.16, and more precisely those that obtain the certification WiMAX, will be able to combine with other techs to offer the fit at the broadband at many of the possible arenas of utilisation; they can substitute determinate techs of fit at the broadband that compete for the same segment and can be an excellent solution for the deployment of infrastructures of fit at the broadband at the stretch nicknamed of "the last mile" at surroundings where the deployment of other techs would suppose some costs of deployment and of overhead maintenance.
