Abstract: On the internet, there is a lot of open access information and the lack of verification makes it possible to provide anti-vaccine information. Fake news about vaccination are abundant with increasing tendency and extremely easy to find thanks to social networks, especially Youtube¿, widely used by anti-vaccination movements, powerful organizations that explain conspiracy theories and misinform about vaccination. Antivaccine disinformation is a serious threat to individual and public health. So, it is very important that all stakeholders in the sanitary system join forces to fight against this movement. The population's lack of digital and health knowledge makes its inhabitants more vulnerable and susceptible to the anti-vaccine misinformation. For this reason, one solution for fight the anti-vaccine misinformation is to empower patients, encouraging patients to think more critically. The concept empowerment is widely used and has a great impact on healthcare, above all in eHealth. A patient is empowered if he has sufficient knowledge, participates in decision-making, and takes control of his own health and disease. The different tools from telephone support to social networks help patients to empower themselves but there are some barriers too. So, the involvement of health professionals is necessary to empower patients to fight the antivaccine misinformation.
