Title: La terminología LGTBIQ+ y de género: tratamiento, traducción y recursos disponibles
Author: Lizarbe Ruiz, Cristina
Tutor: Quixal Martínez, Martí
Abstract: This paper adopts a contrastive approach to study translation and terminological treatment of gender and LGTBIQ+ issues in informative and academical literatures. To that end, we chose several authoritative references representing both worlds and analyzed their approach to the standard public and their terminological and editorial implications. Then, we presented the problems relating these terms, besides discussing the relevance of their status, the peculiarity of their origin and how this affects the resources quality and availability. We gave a practical example and dealt with potential terminological and documentary solutions for specialists. Finally, we attached a list of terminological resources relating gender and LGTBIQ+ fields that might serve as inspiration for future lists. This brief study aims to be a point of departure for more thorough studies relating the different behavior of these terms in all literatures, especially those translated from English.
