Abstract: | The aim of this work is to analyse the cultural projects that 'with the prominence of ancient music from all over' Jordi Savall has promoted and performed throughout the world for more than forty years. The purpose of these projects is to build a shared musical framework of beauty and spirituality that favours the encounter, knowledge, dialogue and the search for solutions to current religious, cultural or political conflicts, and the attainment of the harmony, brotherhood and peace. The essay emphasizes the value of the diversity of people, cultures and beliefs; without exclusions neither distrusts. And he does this by transforming music that is underestimated or forgotten because of being different and foreigner into an instrument of cultural excellence, of a joyful encounter between cultures and religions, and of knowledge of others. Savall makes known and prestigious the culture of the other, demonstrating its quality, beauty and sensibility and making it audible and visible. That is, through concerts and recordings with compositions, instruments, songs, dances and performers from all over the world. The article contains a brief analysis of the languages of Savall 'speech, gesture', which are full of symbolism and capacity for warm approach and firm leadership. It ends with some conclusions and proposals for new lines of research. |
