Abstract: The document describes a first network that enabled communication between two devices and how by introducing switching elements, today, there is the possibility of communicating practically instantly with anyone in the world. Voice service is currently in depreciation since it is practically "given away" in voice + data + TV packages by telecommunications companies, but for this to be possible the network that supports these services has had to evolve, change the methodology used and make efficient use of resources. The analysis aims to explain how it has been possible to assume an exponential growth of the service from a voice network where, for the establishment of communication, it was necessary to have dedicated channels, Circuit Switching (CS) methodology with a high consumption of resources, which entails a great investment in infrastructure, to an efficient network where, thanks to the implementation of IP networks, and the Packet Switching (PS) methodology, it has been possible to absorb the large volume of traffic generated. In addition, its operation, architecture and protocols are developed. The complexity of the network forces us to go one step further and once the switching has been improved, the use of virtualization in telecommunications networks is analyzed, it is explained how it has been implemented in the voice, VNF and SDN network, through high-end servers. benefits, thus reducing costs, improving safety and simplifying tasks, among others. Finally, an introduction and analysis is made on containers, Kubernetes and Dockers, a system that has not yet been brought to the current voice networks in Spain, studying its applicability and thus allowing the automation of deployment, scaling and application management.
