Title: Violència contra les dones i simbologia religiosa en la novel·la Solitud
Author: Miralles Riqué, Teresa
Tutor: GATELL PÉREZ, MONTSERRAT
Abstract: Solitud has been analysed from various angles in the past century. The most canonical approach has categorized it in the rural modernist novel section. It has also been interpreted psychoanalytically, both in its symbolism and in the psychology of its characters. The feminist movement of the second half of the 20th century viewed the novel from the perspective of gender studies, giving way to new readings. The various interpretations of Solitud are a demonstration that the novel has become a classic. This means that ¿to a large extent¿ it evades the categories. It fits in all of them just as much as it avoids them all. This work can still be analysed from new perspectives. Using the parameters set by gender studies, we will analyse the religious symbolic references that are present in Solitud, strengthening the narrative of sexist violence, and the way in which this kind of violence is represented in the novel
