Abstract: The project proposes the creation of the technical broadcasting infrastructure of a television channel based on the integrated Channel in a Box system. This system achieves a reduction in equipment and cost savings compared to the traditional way of broadcast signals thanks to specific software and hardware. In addition, it allows VOD (Video On Demmand) access to all content natively. The traditional broadcast of professional television channels is carried out only in a linear way. In a typical broadcast scheme, the signal goes through different physical equipment and each one performs a function: acquire the audiovisual signal, configure the audio, insert the graphic branding layers and automate the playout or final broadcast list. All these steps are achieved in the same equipment through CIAB (Channel in a Box) systems. The installation is optimized to work with HD-SDI (Serial Digital Interface High Definition) signals with 1080i definition (1920 × 1080 pixels and interlaced scanning). A technical infrastructure that handles these resolutions and workflow is mandatory, as well as consider possible future extensions. For this reason, it works with equipment that can handle 4K resolutions (4096 × 2160 pixels) or higher. In addition to the choice of equipment, the design and connection diagrams of the installation are made allowing the development of all the functionalities described above. With this, the objectives initially set are achieved after having followed the proposed methodology and planning.
