Abstract: My Bachelor¿s Degree Final Project is based on the search for a solution to a social problem; the disconnection of people and nature and the loss of the acoustic landscape of birds singing. Through various scientific studies it is clear that the contact with nature is highly positive for people, as it reduces levels of anxiety and stress. In this sense we have discovered that the human brain is constantly on alert, waiting to receive stimuli but there are three sounds in nature that make the brain relax and rest, alliving stress levels. These are the sound of water, the sound of the wind and birds singing. Bird singing is considered by experts to be a natural sedative. In this way, the idea of the project is to design an interactive device that brings people closer to nature and helps recognize bird singing. To know how this device should be, I have gone into the idea of Jorge Wagensberg¿s ¿Total Museum¿ (Barcelona, 1948¿2018), he considered that the museum should be a tool of social change and that there is no better stimulus than reality. In addition, a survey carried out on users of bird observatories leads us to believe that current observatories do not make an efficient use of new technologies and are not interactive. Also this users claimed that, if a device is designed for recognising bird singing, it should not issue any sound. So I have come to the conclusion that the best way is to create a device in the form of a tablet box and wood, so that you do not disentangle the environment. This device will work so that when a bird sings, a light corresponding to the bird that is singing will be on, so you will be able to distinguish which bird is singing. Instead of pressing a button and listen to the recorded bird sound, when the device hears a bird singing, the device will tell us which bird it is. In this way the stimulus is 100% real. After designing, making the prototype and testing it, I have come to the conclusion that this device can be a very good tool to help people connect with nature, to bring birds closer to their singing and to assess the need for us to listen to it every day. So people can become aware of how useful it is for us and help preserve the acoustic landscape of bird singing. In addition, this artifact can help ornithological tourism, a booming sector, capable of demassing tourism in some regions and providing a familiar turism, which brings quality and respect for nature. In conclusion, I have designed a device that helps us recognise a real stimulus that is good for people and for society, bringing us closer to the idea of a total museum and bringing value to the acoustic landscape, with the intention that society should become aware of its importance while enjoying.
