Abstract: In recent years, the participation in International Women's Day has increased, like the role of the feminist movement in society. This increase peaked in 2019 and then slowed down the following years, mainly due to the covid-19 pandemic. In the mobilizations in Spain, we could already see a certain polarization of conservative sectors against users in favour of this day's demands. In 2020 there was a specific fact that increased the polarization of this event when, for the most part, far- right populist groups blamed the event for the expansion of covid-19. This dissertation seeks to analyse the polarization that is created the 8M in the Spanish users and the existence or not of hate speech. We collect the tweets with the official hashtags used and then we analyse the network created and its communities. In this way we can apply techniques for community and topic detection to see how polarized users are in the way they are grouped and in the content of the messages. Once we've seen the polarization of users, we have verified the existence of hate speech by applying a lexicon that contains hate-related terms. The result is that this discourse does appear in the messages we have, especially against women with some relevance.
