Abstract: The electronic health record is a collection of data on citizens characterised by its complexity and permanent growth. Drug allergies are a growing health problem, accounting for 5-8% of the population. Adverse events related to allergic drug reactions are relevant and largely preventable if information were available in the best way and at the right time. This work aims to support the correct recording and transmission of data based on current communication standards. Research questions were elaborated following the PICO tool, then a systematic review was carried out in the Scielo, Scopus and Google academic databases, mainly in Spanish, given that there are regulatory recommendations issued by the Ministry of Health. Only full-text articles were selected and evaluated according to the PRISMA Statement. Given the complexity of health information, standards, reference models, such as CENEN ISO 13606 and OpenEHR, have been developed to capture information through formal representations of knowledge using clinical archetypes. The need to include clinical terminologies as a terminology link was proven. Drug allergies are one element of history that benefits greatly from the use of standards. The use of archetypes as knowledge representation improves the capture, recording and storage of allergies and facilitates their interoperability, using the most appropriate standards (FHIR), to prescribing systems, in order to reduce adverse events associated with drug allergies.
