Abstract: Since 2015, the 195 countries, members of the United Nations, committed to achieving the sustainable development goals proposed in the 2030 agenda, have covered almost half of the time foreseen for the fulfilment of the goals of the agenda. The aim of this work is to show the level of compliance with the proposed goals in Spain, as well as the involvement of spanish society in the fulfilment of these goals. In order to do so, this work presents a collection of data collected from public databases belonging to ministries and official statistics institutes, such as the INE. This work makes use of data visualisation to present the data visually to the viewer, accompanied by a narrative or storytelling that gives meaning to the data shown, while keeping the viewer’s attention on the information presented. For each of the goals presented, the narrative with data is used to first explain the problem addressed by the goal, then to present, through data visualisation, the current status of the goal and finally to narrate the dangers of not meeting the goals as well as the political and social actions that should be promoted to make progress in meeting the goals proposed by the 2030 agenda. As a final aim, this work intends to demonstrate the potential and effectiveness of Data Storytelling as a communication tool, both in the social and business spheres.
