Abstract: Due to the increase of territorial inequality in globalized metropolises, the urban landscape has lost its main function of being a mechanism of social integration. The urban landscape, being shaped by the social and natural systems that contribute to the well-being of its inhabitants, perpetuates existing inequalities, especially in the most vulnerable urban areas, and thus represents the spatial dimension of the socio-economic and structural inequalities of today's society. The urban landscape is, therefore, the setting for the urban and environmental dimensions of inequality. Although progress is being made in the development of methodologies and indicators for the evaluation of inequalities at the city scale, there is not enough emphasis on the causal relationship of the components of the urban landscape. In this sense, the present research provides an analytical framework to explore the relationship between inequality (in its urban and environmental dimensions) and the urban landscape (in its physical and social dimensions), using the case of the Southeast of Madrid as a field of study. Methodologically speaking, an Atlas is proposed, which allows visualizing and quantifying sector scale problems, for a hierarchy and prioritization in decision making from a multi-criteria evaluation.
