Title: Dret a la ciutat a través de l’espai públic: dones magrebines a sa Pobla
Author: Tomàs Canyelles, Antoni Simó
Tutor: Catalan Eraso, Marta
Abstract: This work analyzes the guarantees of Maghrebi women in the exercise of their rights in the city in the municipality of Sa Pobla. From an intra-group perspective, based on gender and ethnicity, it is analyzed what use immigrant women make of public space; how they use it and what is their degree of relationship, why they do not enjoy it in its totality, what are the strategies used to expel them from certain places and what are the dynamics of relationship with the urban and social environment. The paper theorizes the phenomenon using different analytical tools from anthropology and sociology. A survey, non-participant observation and several interviews have been carried out to better understand the case. In addition, the conclusions offer some lines of action that allow the recovery of the right in the city through the public space as a working tool towards social justice; and some urban cases are presented that can be the starting point or accompaniment to improve access in the city to immigrant women of Sa Pobla.
