Dissidències: LGTBI+ en les arts visuals contemporànies a Terrassa

Abstract

El Dret a la Cultura és l’instrument bàsic per a garantir la creació, la llibertat, la participació, el gaudi i la diversitat, per tant, per possibilitar el coneixement i la legitimació de les identitats múltiples, reconèixer la diferència i dignificar les persones. Les arts són el mecanisme crucial mitjançant el qual es formen i representen les identitats i, en conseqüència, són un vehicle important mitjançant el qual es poden trencar els estereotips de gènere. Parlar de drets culturals amb una mirada LGTBI+ ja no significa només garantir l’accés a la cultura i al consum cultural, també implica crear les condicions òptimes per propiciar i visibilitzar una cultura que es practica des de les dissidències, aquella que genera nous relats que necessiten ser reconeguts. Aquest estudi de recerca se centra en la ciutat de Terrassa, una ciutat que sempre ha posat l’enfocament de les seves polítiques públiques a garantir els drets culturals de la ciutadania. L’objectiu general d’aquest treball és explorar l’encreuament entre les estratègies municipals en matèria LGTBI+, Igualtat de Gèneres i Arts Visuals i analitzar si es garanteixen plenament els drets culturals a Terrassa. En aquest context em proposo analitzar mitjançant una metodologia qualitativa el paper que desenvolupa el programa municipal d’arts visuals respecte a les dissidències LGTBI+: què ha aportat en el passat i què podria aportar en el futur, així com la seva manera de relacionar-se amb les persones LGTBI+ i la ciutadania en general. En la construcció d’identitats i valor simbòlic cercarem què aporta l’administració local i farem constar quins són els discursos de la societat civil, sector privat i tercer sector. Finalment, suggerirem una sèrie de recomanacions per tal que el programa municipal d’arts visuals garanteixi els drets culturals de les persones LGTBI+.

The Right to Culture is the basic instrument to guarantee creation, freedom, participation, enjoy and diversity, therefore, to enable the knowledge and legitimization of multiple identities, to embrace difference and to dignify people. The arts are the crucial mechanism through which identities are formed and represented and, consequently, they are an important vehicle through which gender stereotypes can be broken. Talking about cultural rights with an LGTBI+ perspective no longer just means guaranteeing access to culture and cultural consumption, it also involves creating the optimal conditions to promote and make visible a culture that is practiced from the standpoint of dissent, one that generates new stories that they need to be recognized. This research study focuses on the city of Terrassa, a city that has always focused its public policies on guaranteeing the cultural rights of citizens. The general objective of this work is to explore the intersection between municipal strategies in the field of LGTBI+, Gender Equality and Visual Arts and to analyze whether cultural rights are fully guaranteed in Terrassa. In this context, I propose to analyze, using a qualitative methodology, the role played by the municipal visual arts program concerning LGTBI+ dissent: what it has contributed in the past and what it could contribute to the future, as well as its way of relating with LGBTI+ people and the public in general. In the construction of identities and symbolic value, we will look for what the local administration contributes, and we will record the discourses of civil society, the private sector and the third sector. Finally, we will suggest a series of recommendations so that the municipal visual arts program guarantees the cultural rights of LGTBI+ people.
