Title: Acoso Escolar en Adolescentes con Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA): Revisión Sistemática
Other Titles: Bullying in Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Systematic Review
Author: Villalvir Santos, Elena

Abstract: Research suggests that adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are more likely to be involved in bullying than their typically developing peers; however, research has been less profuse. The objective of this review was to know risk factors, predictive factors, and the prevalence of bullying in adolescents with ASD. The method used has followed the guidelines of the PRISMA 2020 declaration. The final sample is made up of 12 articles that met the inclusion criteria and were included in this review. Studies point to internalizing symptoms as predictive factors. The studies that report risk factors indicate externalizing behaviors, the severity of the ASD, individual, social and environmental factors. Likewise, prevalence studies suggest that students with ASD are frequent victims of bullying with victimization rates that vary according to the study methodology. These findings underscore the importance of addressing this issue more broadly and exhaustively, to promote the implementation of detection and intervention programs in school settings.
