Abstract: In today's companies, there are several generations of people living together, each with different goals, behavioural models, motivations, etc. In this context of coexistence of several generations in companies, there is often a tendency to claim that one of these generations, the millennials, is not a generation committed to their company. Given this context of intergenerational diversity, it is interesting to analyse the characteristic traits of each generation in relation to their behaviour, preferences, motivations, etc. in the labour market. This research work analyses the organizational commitment of the Y generation or millennials in Spain. This project is focus on the population working and developing their professional career in Spain. The research question is this one: Is it true that the millennials generation in Spain is characterised by a low level of employment commitment? The hypothesis of this research is that millennials are characterised by a low level of employment commitment. The aim of this project is to define a millennials profile and to check if the hypothesis is fulfilled or not. The methodology used is a quantitative methodology based on a survey and in the analysis of the results but is also based on the theoretical analysis of previous studies. The analysis carried out shows that millennials make up the generation with the lowest level of commitment. This result is common in all dimensions that are part of the organisational commitment: affective, belonging and normative commitment. This generation has different concerns, motivations, preferences, etc. that make its organisational commitment lower than the commitment presented by X generation or Z generation. New HR practices are required that allow its commitment to be strengthened and through which companies can retain this talent.
