Transsexualitat i esport femení. La realitat d'una jugadora trans en una lliga femenina de bàsquet

Abstract

En una societat moderna en molts aspectes, un gran nombre de persones transsexuals veuen impedit el seu anhel de desenvolupar una necessitat social com és la pràctica d’un esport per discrepàncies envers el gènere. La transfòbia, la manca d’empatia i entesa i serioses deficiències en el respecte cap a una realitat cada cop més normativa; simbolitzen la quotidianitat del col·lectiu trans, que majoritàriament es troben amb un entorn social hostil a l’hora de normalitzar les seves vides tot fent esport. A través de la recerca empírica, una visió neutra i una investigació majorment qualitativa, enfocat específicament en el món del bàsquet, es pretén donar llum a la qüestió sobre la participació d’una dona transsexual en una lliga de bàsquet femení. Mitjançant entrevistes, testimonis de persones enteses en la matèria, enquestes i recerca bibliogràfica; entendre la visió global sobre l’impacte de la transsexualitat a l’esport de la pilota taronja. Les conclusions extretes tenen a veure amb la capacitat legal per a competir de les jugadores trans en una competició femenina, les desigualtats que se’n poden derivar de la competició i, sobretot, del debat social sobre la seva participació en una competició genèricament femenina.

In a modern society in many aspects, a large number of transsexual people are prevented from their desire to develop a social need such as the practice of a sport due to discrepancies towards gender. Transphobia, the lack of empathy and understanding and serious deficiencies in respect for an increasingly normative reality; they symbolize the daily life of the trans collective, who mostly encounter a hostile social environment when normalizing their lives doing sport. Through empirical research, a neutral vision and a mostly qualitative research, focused specifically on the world of basketball, it is intended to shed light on the question of the participation of a transsexual woman in a women's basketball league. Through interviews, testimonies of people knowledgeable in the matter, surveys and bibliographic research; understand the global vision on the impact of transsexuality in the sport of the orange ball. The conclusions drawn have to do with the legal capacity of trans players to compete in a female competition, the inequalities that can arise from the competition and, above all, the social debate about their participation in a generically female competition.
