Abstract: | The proposed Bachelor's Degree Dissertation aims to create a fully functional prototype of a 2D video game titled 'Trufo's Adventure,' developed using the cross-platform game engine Unity, allowing easy development for both PC and Mac. Targeted at children aged seven to eleven, this video game combines exploration and collection components with gamification features to facilitate the learning of new English words through gameplay. The game revolves around Trufo's task of gathering ingredients to complete recipes requested by various NPCs, which must be consulted in the available recipe book. A significant aspect is that all instructions in the recipe book are in English, providing linguistic immersion for the player. The development follows an agile methodology due to the limited time for implementation and the lack of experience in game development. Additionally, owing to limited graphic design knowledge, third-party assets and sprites have been used to ensure effective visual representation. |
