Abstract: | More than Human Lens is a project focused on exploring other sensory worlds (Umwelt) within the framework of More-than-Human Design. Umwelt refers to the unique perceptual world that each organism experiences based on its sensory and cognitive capacities. By integrating the perceptions of the Umwelt of various species into design processes, More-than-Human Design considers the experiences and needs of all living beings, not just humans. It aims to transcend anthropocentrism and promote environments and systems that respect and respond to the diversity of sensory and cognitive experiences of living beings. The project began with the goal of addressing the complexities and ethical considerations in representing non-human life on social media. This project has been carried out through a human-centered design process with a More-than-Human perspective. To this end, the project focused primarily on the research phase, conducting co-creation workshops where ideas were collected and defined until reaching the ideation and low-fidelity prototyping phase of a speculative fiction platform. |
