Abstract: Currently, each person discards an average of 120 kg of uneaten food per year. To try to reverse and solve this environmental and social problem, we have designed Wastem: the app to reduce food waste. Wastem was born with the objective to improve the food management by the people in their home. Through a set of digital tools like a weekly menu planner that will facilitate the task of not buying food in excess, a shopping list that, combined with the possibility of control, through a inventory, purchased foods and their expiration dates, it will help to make shopping more efficient, and a platform where users can donate their still available products that they won't use and thus offer them a second life, the application aims to change the population habits regarding this issue. This project was born within the framework of the Final Degree Project of the Design and Digital Creation Degree at the UOC.
