Abstract: This project conducts a comprehensive analysis of IoT device security, focusing on the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities. The research includes a thorough examination of common security issues in IoT systems, analyzing the IoT architecture, vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and the most used tools to execute attacks. Penetration tests were carried out in a virtualized environment, successfully executing a code injection attack, and generating a report detailing the vulnerabilities found and mitigation strategies to address them. Future research areas have been proposed to enhance the security of IoT systems and explore additional potential vulnerabilities.
