Abstract: Introduction: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects multiple organs and systems. Nutrition is a relevant factor in its management, suggesting that certain nutrients and dietary patterns may influence SLE activity and patients' quality of life. This paper reviews the scientific literature to evaluate these relationships and provide evidence-based recommendations. Methodology: A literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library Plus. Studies from the last ten years on the relationship between nutrition and SLE in humans were selected, including systematic reviews and metaanalyses. The quality of the studies was assessed following the PRISMA methodology. Outcomes: Nine relevant studies were identified. Omega-3 fatty acids showed anti-inflammatory effects and cardiovascular benefits. Vitamins C and E are slightly associated with a decrease in oxidative stress in SLE patients. Vitamin D showed protective effects in modulating inflammatory processes and reducing fatigue, although dosage should be personalized. The Mediterranean diet showed anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective benefits. Conclusions: The evidence suggests that dietary intervention may be effective in managing SLE. Nutrients such as omega-3, vitamin D, and the Mediterranean diet can improve clinical outcomes and patient well-being. Further research and integration of nutritional strategies in the treatment of SLE are recommended.
