Title: Fomentant la passió per la tecnologia entre les noies de secundària

Abstract: Gender bias persists in the education system, with girls underrepresented in technology studies compared to boys. This work addresses this problem with the aim of understanding the reasons why girls show less interest or avoid taking technology-related studies, seeking to promote gender equality in the STEM fields and identify effective strategies to encourage female participation in these fields. Quantitative analysis reveals that girls have less confidence in their math and science abilities, perceive technology as more difficult, and value technology less than boys. Qualitative analysis suggests that girls do not see technology as a relevant option for their future careers and are strongly influenced by negative stereotypes about technology professions. Therefore, it is recommended to promote technology towards girls by highlighting its practical application and impact in everyday life and carry out activities that present the history of female scientists and engineers to demystify myths and stereotypes. Likewise, it is crucial to implement mentoring programs and increase the visibility of professional women in this field as well as reduce the perception of the difficulty of the subject and mathematics. It is also necessary to make technology more understandable and attractive, introducing interesting and relevant projects, integrating more practical activities into technology classes, and encouraging creativity through experimentation. This research provides valuable insight into girls' perceptions of technology, thereby contributing to greater gender equity and diversity in STEM fields.
