Abstract: Introduction: Bone injuries are very common among runners, affecting their athletic performance, psychological well-being, and daily life. The etiology of these injuries is often multifactorial, but nutritional intervention plays a significant role in both prevention and recovery. Objective: To evaluate the impact of nutritional intervention on the prevention and rehabilitation of bone injuries in runners. Method: A search was conducted in three databases: Pubmed, Web of Science and Scopus. The search combined the following keywords: bone injury,” “bone stress injury,” “stress fracture,” “nutrition,” “diet,” “macronutrients,” and “micronutrients.” Results: Of the 21 articles initially selected for full-text review, 13 were included in the final analysis. Of these, 9 studies focused on risk factors, 2 on prevention, and 3 (including one of the studies on risk factors) examined the use of supplements in runners. Conclusion: Proper nutrition that ensures sufficient intake of calcium, vitamin D, and proteins, along with adequate caloric intake and appropriate use of dietary supplements, is essential for preventing and rehabilitating bone injuries in runners.
