Title: Impacto del liderazgo en entornos remotos: percepciones de personas trabajadoras

Abstract: Remote working refers to the type of employment where employees perform their duties in a location different from the organization's headquarters or offices. Although it has become common in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some companies are returning to the office following restrictions being lifted, posing challenges in talent management. Some employees are seeking a modality which allows them to balance their personal and professional lives. This alteration in working patterns has had a significant social impact both on companies as we employees lives. The shift towards a remote work environment highlights the need for leadership adapted to these settings, being a determining factor for its effectiveness, talent attraction, productivity, and the well-being of remote teams. The key question is whether leadership impacts telecommuting. This would be the focus of the study, analyzing how the leadership styles of team leaders affect remote workers. Given the strategic importance of leadership within an organization, it is suggested that human resources department of a company can implement policies and best practices to improve the leadership exerted over teams, affecting a multiple factors such as talent management and attraction. The objective of this Master's Thesis is to study the impact of leadership on telecommuting from the perspective of the remote worker. This study focuses on understanding how different leadership styles could affect performance, productivity, cultural change, well-being, mental health, professional development, and social interactions. To this end, multiple theories are analyzed to evaluate the importance of transformational, transactional, and situational leadership within the remote environment. Additionally, factors influencing leadership such as communication, motivation, and conflict management approaches are analyzed. The results of this research provide fundamental insights for understanding how the leadership exerted impacts the design of remote working programs from human resources departments.
