Abstract: Precarious work, understood as a multidimensional, dynamic, and complex phenomenon, is still a problem that affects individuals and organizations on a global scale. Multiple investigations demonstrate how negatively precarious work impacts job satisfaction and the physical and mental health of people. Additionally, several studies highlight the relevance of job satisfaction for proper development and better work quality to achieve higher performance and productivity. The following study investigates the current situation regarding precarious work and job satisfaction of the participants, and evaluates significant differences in some aspects of precarity based on age and gender, thereby identifying the most relevant factors that contribute to job dissatisfaction and the consequences of precarious work. To develop this investigation, a survey was conducted using Google Forms, asking for sociodemographic information, work conditions, and the questionnaire about job satisfaction S20/23 designed by Meliá & Peiró, which includes five factors. In this study, 277 people living in Spain answered the survey. For the quantitative analysis, SPSS statistics software was used. Additionally, the results analysis was complemented with the descriptive data obtained from the survey. The results of this study show how job conditions, age, and gender influence the perception of precarious work, well-being, and professional and personal satisfaction. Although the results do not show a clear prevalence of precarious work or job dissatisfaction among the participants, they show significant differences in terms of satisfaction around salary, contract duration, feelings of uncertainty, self-confidence or self-esteem, overqualification, task overload, the difficulty of Relació entre la precarietat laboral i la satisfacció laboral: Un estudi multidimensional MU en Direcció i Gestió de Recursos Humans 8 starting a project, and the growing predisposition to emigrate to other countries in search of better opportunities.
